Your back went out again. Let’s get you moving.
You bend to pick something up — a laundry basket, a toddler, nothing heavy — and something in your back says no. Or maybe there was no single moment. It just crept in after too many long days at a desk, and now mornings are the worst part of your day. Either way, you’re here because it’s not getting better on its own.
Back pain is the number one reason people walk through our doors. Most of it comes from the same handful of culprits: strained muscles, irritated spinal joints, or discs that aren’t happy. The frustrating part is how ordinary the cause usually is. Too much sitting. One awkward twist. Years of “I’ll stretch tomorrow.”
What back pain can feel like:
- A dull ache across the low back that never fully goes away
- Sharp pain with certain movements — bending, twisting, standing up
- Stiffness first thing in the morning that eases as you move
- Muscle tightness or spasms along the spine
- Pain that radiates into the buttock or hip
- Good days and bad days with no clear pattern
Here’s what we wish more people knew: most back pain isn’t dangerous, but it is specific. A muscle strain and an irritated spinal joint can feel similar and need different handling. That’s why we don’t guess. Your first visit is a real evaluation — we look at how you move, test what’s irritated, and figure out the actual driver before we touch anything.
Treatment follows the findings. For a lot of people that means chiropractic adjustments to restore motion in stuck joints, muscle release work on the spasmed tissue around them, and rehab exercises so the same thing doesn’t keep happening. Some cases respond well to cold laser or muscle stimulation to calm things down faster. What you won’t get is a one-size-fits-all plan or a lecture.
If any of that sounds familiar, come in and let us take a look. We’ll evaluate you thoroughly, tell you straight what we find, and be honest about whether we think we can
Most back pain comes from strained muscles, irritated spinal joints, or unhappy discs — usually after too much sitting, one awkward movement, or gradual overuse. Arthritis and nerve irritation cause some cases too. Your evaluation pinpoints which one is driving yours so treatment targets the right thing.
If pain lasts more than a few days, keeps coming back, or limits what you can do, get checked. Come sooner if pain shoots into a leg, or you notice numbness or weakness.
It depends on the cause. Simple muscle strains often turn a corner within a couple of weeks of consistent care. Joint or disc-driven pain can take longer. At your first visit we’ll give you an honest read on what to expect — no open-ended treatment plans.
We talk through your history, then check how your spine moves, test muscles and nerves, and find what’s irritated. You’ll get a straight explanation of what’s going on and a plan built around it — including whether we’re the right fit or you need a different kind of care.
No. Our goal is to get you better and keep you that way, not to sign you up for life. Most people come for a focused stretch of care, then check in only if something flares up. We’ll always tell you when you’re done.
